Southwest Mississippi Community College Associate Degree Nursing Instructor Alecia Hollis shared her journey through the diagnosis and treatment of childhood cancer with the Student Nurses Organization.
Her son is a nine-year cancer survivor. Hollis recently sponsored a service project for Blair E. Batson Children’s Hospital.
There are currently 60 children at children’s hospital being treated for cancer. The nursing students stuffed lunchboxes with Valentine’s candy, stress balls, bubbles and other goodies for these children.
The lunchboxes are scheduled to be delivered Monday in time for the children’s Valentine’s Day party.
