McComb man gets 5 years for exploitation

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - A McComb man is headed to prison for taking advantage of an elderly woman.

Attorney General Jim Hood says 61-year-old Kenneth Miller pleaded guilty to exploiting more than $16,000 from a 97-year-old bedridden victim.

4 year old struck, killed by vehicle in McComb

MCCOMB, MS (WLBT) - A 4-year-old boy was struck and killed by a vehicle Sunday in McComb, and the driver of the vehicle is now in custody.

McComb Chief of Police Gregory Martin says 4-year-old Christopher Allen, of McComb, died from his injuries around 8:25 p.m.

MARION COUNTY, MS (WDAM) - A man suspected of murdering his parents had been captured in Pike County after an all-day manhunt Wednesday.

Marion County authorities used cell phone tracking technology to home in on Shawn Louge's location, and then set up road blocks in Pike County where they knew he was headed. He was stopped in his mother's car in possession of shotgun.

McComb man accused of growing pot in mother's garden

MCCOMB, MS (WLBT) - A Pike County man has been arrested after police say he was growing marijuana in a garden at his mother’s house.

According to a Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics official, agents were acting on a tip when they found 73 marijuana plants growing on a property on Margaret Lane in McComb.

McComb man arrested for exploiting vulnerable person

A McComb man was arrested Tuesday and charged with felonious exploitation of a vulnerable person.

Kenneth Miller, 61, was arrested by investigators after he was indicted by a Pike County Grand Jury in April, according to Attorney General Jim Hood.

Miller is accused of exploiting more than $16,000 from an “impaired, elderly victim.”

Miller was booked into the Pike County jail.  No bond has been set.  Miller was indicted as a habitual offender and, if convicted, faces up to 10 years behind bars without the possibility of parole.

Suspect arrested in murder of Pike County teen

PIKE COUNTY, MS (WLBT) - The man suspected of killing a teenager in Pike County Tuesday night has been arrested in Louisiana.

Authorities say 25-year-old Damion Ferguson of Summit was located Thursday afternoon at a house in Kenner, La.

Ninteen-year-old Deairrika Conerly of McComb was found on Alford Bridge Tuesday. She died of a single gunshot wound to the head.

Ferguson will be extradited to Pike County to face armed robbery and attempted armed robbery charges.
